Why we exist

Most dog bowls are sold on shape and colour, which are the two things that do not matter after week one.

What matters is whether the surface stays clean for a decade, whether the bowl stays where it was put, and whether the decoration is under the glaze or sitting on top of the food.

Material is the product

304 food-grade stainless: non-porous, no coating, no liner, dishwasher twice a day forever.

Fired stoneware with a food-safe glaze: heavy enough to end the sliding, beautiful in a kitchen, and honest that it chips at the rim.

Why we will not make plastic bowls

Plastic feeding surfaces scratch, and the scratches are exactly where bacteria persist through washing.

It is the cheapest bowl to manufacture and the one we would least want on our own kitchen floor. That is the whole reason, stated plainly.

A bowl that moves has failed

We bond a silicone ring to the base rather than shipping a separate mat, because a separate mat gets chewed within a month.

And we state the limit honestly: a featherweight bowl pushed hard on tile will still travel. If that is the dog, the answer is mass or a stand.

Slow feeders have to come clean

Making a meal take longer is easy. Making a maze that a dishwasher jet can actually reach the bottom of is the design problem.

Wide-radius channels, no undercuts, no blind pockets — because the unwashable slow feeder is the single biggest complaint in the category.

Where we stop: the health questions

We do not make medical or nutritional claims. Not about digestion, not about weight, and not about bloat.

Whether a particular dog should eat from a raised bowl is genuinely contested in the veterinary literature. Ask a vet who has seen the dog; tell us the height; we will build it exactly.

Etched or fired, never printed

A bowl is scrubbed daily. Anything applied on top of the surface eventually ends up somewhere it should not be.

So marks are laser-etched into stainless or fired in under the glaze on ceramic, and nowhere else.

What we will talk you out of

Plastic. A separate non-slip mat. Etching a high-turnover kennel consumable. Any sentence implying a bowl improves a dog’s health. And a raised feeder height we picked instead of your vet.

Each refusal costs an order occasionally and costs trust never.
